Monday:

Why not start each week with a boost to your vitality, courtesy of Tai Chi sessions for beginers and intermediates.  These take place in the hall every Monday morning at 10am and cost either £6.50 per session on the day, or £60 for 10 lessons if paid in advance.  There is a maximum of 12 people in each group, and the first session is free for new starters.  Each session will include warm up exercises, Qi Gong, and Tai Chi form exercise, which the group claim if practised regularly can improve muscle control and mobility, and also relieve stress and muscle tension.  Contact Phil Cole for more information on 01243 555102.  Sessions are now also held on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 8.30pm.

Dixie Belles line dancing classes are also held in the Hall on Monday lunchtimes.  Beginners classes are between 12-1pm, and improvers from 1pm to 2pm.   - for further details call Jenny Bembridge on 01243 585298. Full details can be found at www.dixiebelles.co.uk - This group also holds sessions for intermediate dancers on Thursday evenings between 1930 and 2130, so don't despair if you can't come along to this sessionsduring the day due to work commitments.

The first and third Monday of every month between 1.30 and 4pm sees the main hall in use for the Evergreen Over 50's Club.  Come along and keep your mind active with Bingo, Quizzes, Guest Speakers and other entertainment.   A coach trip is arrange by the club every couple of months.  Contact Mrs M Collis on 01243 552347 for more details.
Monday evenings from 5.15pm sees a meeting of the local Well Fit in the Main Hall.  This group is run by Clare McTernan, and her website can be viewed by clicking the link here!  

Also on Monday evenings (except for Bank Holidays), between 8-10pm the Sparks Badminton Club uses the main hall.

The first Monday in every month sees a meeting of the Yapton and Ford Local History Group starting at 7.30pm.  Did you know that Yapton dates from the 11th century and Ford from the 12th century - or that in 1833, Yapton had 6 schools?  This group does, and a lot more too!

Mondays between 15.15 and 16.30 (except Bank Holidays) the mobile library service provided by West Sussex County Council visits the hall.

 

 

Tuesday: 

Tuesdays at 10am sees the hall used by Jane Sadler Fitness.  Jane runs a Pilates class, the cost is £5.50 per session.  Pilates is a form of body conditioning which encourages correct alignment and ease of movement.  It's aims are to lengthen and strengthen the muscles and mobilise joints through gentle exercise.  For further details call 01243 554355 or 07814 814394 - or email Jane at jane_fitness@btinternet.com

Yapton  Short Mat Bowling Club.   Every Tuesday from 5.45 pm to 8.45 pm in the Main Hall. (This session is for more experienced Bowlers) There is a membership fee of £10 per year, and a charge of £2 per session for "Green Fee" which covers expenses.

The third Tuesday of every month at 10am sees a meeting of the Yapton New Women's Institute.  The women's institute promotes friendship and offers social activities for all women regardless of age, creed, colour, with no political or religious affiliation.  Please contact Mrs Margaret Layton on 01903 730602 for more information.

Walberton Decorative and Fine Arts Society meet in the hall on the 4th Tuesday of every month.  The club listen to art experts giving presentations on their specialist subjects, covering Painting, Sculture, Architecture, Textiles etc.    In addition they have visits and tours to museums, art galleries great houses and an enjoyable programme of social events too.  See the "Special Events" page for details of their next lecture.  Enquiries regarding membership should be addressed to Nigel Jolley, tel 01243 542487 or click here to email him.   More information can be found on their own website by clicking here.


 

Wednesday: 

On Wednesday mornings between 10.30am and 12 noon the hall is used by Yapton and Ford Village Community Group which is an ideal place for people of all ages to get together for a friendly chat over tea or coffee. 

Wednesday mornings between 0930-1130 the hall hosts the Citizens Advice Bureau.  This valuable free service is available to all without the need for an appointment.  Just drop in for free advice on benefits, employment, debt, housing and many other matters.  Advice is free, impartial and confidential.

Yapton Cottage Gardeners Society meet at the hall periodically on Wednesday evenings.  The society has it's roots at the end of the 19th century with their first show being held in 1890.  The aims of the society are to encourage their members to further their interest and enjoyment in matters horticultural.  Several times during the year the village is lucky enough to host some spectaluar displays on the green and in the hall, and we will be sure to mention the next show date on the special events page as soon as we have this.  More information on this group can be found on their own website which can be found at www.yaptongardeners.co.uk

Thursday:

 

Thursday morning sees Maracca Jacks Music Workshop holding their classes in the hall.  Baby classes (0 to 18 months) start run between 1000-1030am, and toddlers (18 months to five years) will run between 1045 and 1130am.  More information on this popular groups activities can be found on their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/MaracaJacksMusicWorkshopWestsussex
